French kitchen??

I am of course not done with the kitchen. It´s kind of too clean, it need to be more shabby!!
I made the niche around the window, but I have to make it look like it´s belong to the original wall, and I don´t have a sink that fits the space. Okay...I need to make one... or  buy???? I don´t know yet, but it will probably take some time to decide, and get it done!
So enjoy what I have done so far;
The cute wall cabinet is made by Evelyne Fontaine at; /http://lescarnetsdelatelierblondie.blogspot.com/

I have made the picture extra big so the wonderful food from KIVA are more visible. She made the nectarines, the fish pai, tomatoes and the mushrooms!!! The food looks just great!

I´v got the nice wine bottle from Hanneke from Holland, she also sent with them a cute wine opener!
The rolling pin and the items hanging by the stove are purchased at  the Italian fair; http://www.miniaturitalia.it/.

Some of the food items on the shelf are purchased at the same italian fair, the jars are from Country Treasures at; The Kensington Dollhouse fair

Notice the cute mouse on the toaster made by David Ward!
But does the kitchen look French at all? I know, I should have used tiles...but I made it several years ago now...and I did not know so much back then. But it´s a nice floor in it self!

Cosy dollhouse friday!

My daughter Victoria (12), was so lucky, she got a lovely Christmas cake from Margaret Cassidy.

This friday we decorated the Christmas tree in her dollhouse. We chose pastel colors to go with the decoration of the house! It made the Christmas spirit come to me =)

Girls love dolls, don´t they?

I, like every little girl, used to love dolls! Not all kinds of dolls, they HAD to look like real babies!!
Luckily, that has changed :) I still love dolls, and I have found my new favorites at: http://atticbabys.blogspot.com by the talented artist Nancy Gerber!
These dolls are so lovely and special!
Just have a look, and I am sure you all agree!!

More french details!

Books are popular to make these days, and I am working on my version of them.

These old looking books are typically french, and I have seen a lot of pictures with
books like this. I have only made these three books so far...it´s a rather time consuming thing to do! I am sewing two and two pages together, I then stitch 6 pieces together and then sew those together in the back. Dipping them in tea, gives them the old look. After giving them a good soak, gently squeeze the rest of the tea out of it. Place it in a tweezer, use the hairdryer to dry it, this will make the paper thicker. This wont dry it completely, it will dry overnight. Then it´s ready for placing the little label at the back of the miniature antique french book!

The lovely candlestick is made by Cilla ( Minst.com)
Those tiny and cute reading glasses with the leather box is made by a swedish lady ; Mette Möller (memdolls, no website, but e-mail Cilla about her!)
The figurine was purchased in Antibes, and the magnifying glass...I don´t remember!

This is a new book cabinet I assembled this summer ( I might rip of the doors though) It is going to be filled with books of course, hopefully a lot of the "antique" books! But like Sabihas wine cellar....it´s going to take some time, hopefully not too many years! The bookcabinet is going into the living room, the picture is taken in the small hallway at the back of the dining room.
The wonderful bird is made by Cilla at Minst.com
Placed on the open book at the little table is the lovely gift from Linda. She gave me a packet of her wonderful tiny "lettres d´amour!

This picture has ben my source of inspiration:

Bathroom finished!

This bathroom have been finished for a while now, it was actually one of the first room i did! The only thing that missed, was those tiny details that make it look right.  So this evening I´v  made the towel hanger beside the sink... and the towel with the small embroider monogram. I purchased a bunch of them at a marked last year in Antibes. I ´v  also made the toilet paper holder to match the towel holder....and the hanger(?) for the shower curtain. I ´v  made the perfume bottles on the sink, the box with towels on the floor, the floor mat, the small shelf above the bathtub. Two of the perfume bottles, I did. The pink, sweet tray is from Victoria Fasken ( she has no home page, but just google her) The beautiful pink carafe     was a gift from a dear friend; Tove ( she used to have a dollhouse shop in Bergen, and thats where I purchased the lamp) Enjoy the bath!!

The Sewing room!

Finally I found the inspiration I´v been looking for; Lea´s book of course! The room vas dull and hard to decorate, much to do with the bedroom wallpaper! It´s not easy to find something to match it. I like it when two room´s don´t collide in style or color. Originally I wanted the small fireplace in the bedroom, but came up with that idea too late!! So when looking through the book for the 100 time...ah ha...that´s what I´ll do; make new walls on cardboard, and the fireplace of course! It was so easy and fun to do. But I have only made the wall you see in the picture. Now I have to do the rest of the room...not so fun, but I must!!! The poor french woman has no hair
(I am going to make her a wig, eventually!) and no clothes, except what she´s wearing. No wonder she´s sewing!!
I would like you to give me an idea of a french name that suites her. The wig will be dark, maybe long hair..... and the time period is now! Just look at her washer!!

Some improved pictures of the utility/laundry room.

Snowing!!!! No it´s too early!!!!

This is the view from my working room. I look out on two of the oldest houses in Rena, the brown one is used as a kindergarden! But it´s too early for winter and snow. This means that I am looking at 6 months of cold winter!!! My what have I done!! Okay...this is what you get moving away from the west coast and the rain ( would I like rain for 6 months ? NOOO)
So here we go, winter is here!

I also like to show you my working room. I am lucky, I have a lot of space..too much maybee...it´s always looking messy!! Working on the sewing room, new pictures tomorrow :D

Look into this blog!!!

You just have to visit this blog and look at all the wonderful flower´s!

Utility room in the french house.

The utility room in the house is almost ready. It needs a bit more of character, some utility´s..... maybe?

I made the shelf with the metal hook´s. I also made the little hanger. I bought the dust broom at a fair... not sure where...
The fantastic bottles on top of the washer and the bucket was bought at the Kensington dollhouse festival(www.dollshousefestival.com) from Country Treasures.
(Kensington dollhouse festival has a christmas fair the 22 of November, and I am visiting!!!!!)
I also bought the wonderful laundry basket there, from lovely Zara Thomson Ribeaud. (www.zarathomsonribeaud.com)
Notice that one of the pictures of the shelf has different "utility´s"...
looks a lot better with the cute boxes from Rosanna.. dont you think?
And I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures...I will be back with something better !!!!

Welcome to new followers!

Strange picture to post you might say... well I promised Marlies to look for the wallpaper I used in the bedroom of the french house, and I found it! It´s put together from a piece of paper, used for drawers, from
Laura Ashley. Anyone who likes it is free to use it. Just click on the picture, it´s then in the right size, and print from that!
