A new project !

My daughter Victoria's first attempt on making cupcakes :) She watched the lovely cupcake-tutorial made by Christel, and used Christel's molds to make her own cupcakes!! It was quite easy, and Victoria did not even have all of the equipment required for making them.... I think she did a great job:)
They are going into a new project....something I gave Victoria back in 07! My dear and generous friend Janne made it possible for me to work on this project and make it even better than I first imagined it to be...and Victoria is very happy with it :)) As soon as it is glued together, and look a bit organized, I will be back with pictures!

  

My Christmas tree!!

I haven't had a Christmas tree in my apartment for the last 3 years. That's because I have been traveling to Bergen to spend Christmas with the children. I did collect Christmas ornaments for 25 years, but they are all in Bergen now! But this year I wanted one. I have started a new collection, and today I purchased a tree! It's an artificial tree, and I actually prefer them to the natural ones. I think it's crazy to by a really expensive natural tree and then trow it out after 3 or 4 weeks!!! I always felt bad when I did that :((
I don't have a lot of Christmas feeling ....as usual, maybe because it's raining all the time. But the tree did help a lot :))

As my collection is not enough to fill the whole tree, I needed to fill it with all the possible items I could think of!!

Christmas decoration....but just a bit!

Chanel is moving back into her house and she wanted to start the Christmas decoration while the living room still was empty! While she has been living in a box, some of her furniture has been worked on to get a more french look! Her shop is closed until after new year, due to some interior work. It suits her well, because now she has a lot of time to slowly move everything back into her house...she really missed it!

In front of the fireplace is a box containing a bit of christmas decorations. The box is made by Janne in one of our "miniature evenings". Together with  Janne and Rita, I made two Cristmas stockings and the green heartshaped moss covered thing on the floor! The rest is gifts from Janne :) The wreath and the guirlander
is made by me.

French inspiration!

Hi again,
Last time I posted I was in the middle of the moving process. Almost two month's  later I am well installed in the new city Stavanger! I have a job (in a fashion store), a boyfriend and some good friends....and the city!!! It is so nice to be living among people, shops, busses, the sea..did I mentioned people??? :))))
I still havent moved Chanel and her furniture into her house, poor girl..still in a box!
I have ben to a couple of mini-gatherings and I love it! The people here are very nice and welcoming and let you in to their groups like you are an old friend returning back home. It's ben a long time since my fingers did any mini work... it's taking some time to get into it again.
Yesterday I started to put in the sockets to light up the french house. It has ben moved into the living room  and probably has to stay there to be worked on!! My plans are to make the anticue /brocante/ flower shop
look a bit more genuine...now it just look like a room in a dollhouse!!!

Moving day.....for Chanel!

When I saw the content of the french house spread all over the table, the first thing that ran through my head was; OMG: this is crazyyy!!!

I really like this new blog design, it is simple and clean, and gives the images more focus. But I miss some of the features from the old design, is there anyone who has good advice about stuff like that, how to add something to the blog, side bars etc?
By clicking on the different words on the left side you get a lot of choices of how to show the pictures, I like it a lot!! And by clicking on the B symbol on the left side you can still see the profile, followers and the blogs I follow!!

Just to remind my self of the fun of it!!!

A big hello and a sorry for the long absence!!!

It's been far too long since my last post, nearly a year!
My life changed a bit, and for a while the miniature hobby was something I had no time for, or wanted to think about .
My french house was nearly finished and the work remaining was the exterior.....it still remains!!!!
These days I have been spending my time in Stavanger, a town on the west coast of Norway. 
I  quitted the library job, my flat is sold and i have rented a new one in this town.
Today I got a phone call  from one of the jobs I applied for, and I made an appointment for my first job interview!!! 
In this city I have relatives, a brother and a sister, both older than me..probably wiser too!!! :)
I have miniature friends, and hopefully I will be able to blow some life into some of the activities this town once had; a miniature club! It still exist ....but I don't think or know if there is any activities these days...
It will still be some time until you will see any miniature pictures from my hand....need to move my stuff, get settled and get a job first! But I have ideas and some unfinished stuff...so, one of these days!!!
Here is a picture of the kitchen in my new flat, quite a modern looking one. I guess it will change my interior style a bit, but I am still hanging on to my old books, my french aubusson carpet and Laura Ashley lamps!!!

Long time no see (blogging).....

Hi all friends and followers,
Sorry about the long absence from the blog world!


I am well and in good health and so is the rest of the family. 
Some of the reason for my absence is of course work. As some of you know I am working 50% in a school library. Due to all of those nice holidays we have in the school system, I need to work more hours on a daily basis to even out the free time. And getting just half the paycheck that I need, I must work more. Luckily there is another division of this school, a school for children with different learning problems. These students are living at the school
and need people to take care of them after the end of the school hours. That is my job in the evenings, a couple of days of the week. After ending the day in the library I drive over to this place, and start working at 15.00 and finishes  at 22.00 in the evening.


And i moved again!!!
Too much Moose, trees and lack of people at the farm!!!
I am now back in Rena in a smaller and better apartment.
So as you may understand I am quite busy with everything but minis!!!
My french house is now placed in my living room. It is almost completed inside, but still in need for the exterior work....
But Norway is a dark place at the moment, and when I return home in the evening it is totally dark! As soon as I have some spare time and some daylight I will try to take some better pictures. Lucy Maloney's adorable gift (Bastian) needs to be photographed with a good camera!!!
So until then, here 's a bad and dark picture from the new place and some nice frosty pictures from Hedmark county (Rena, Koppang, where I work and Rendalen is in Hedmark county)
